Mediterranean Institute for Scientific Research

Scientific Research relies on the application of the scientific method, a harnessing of curiosity. This research provides scientific information and theories for the explanation of the nature and the properties of the world. It makes practical applications possible.
The changing face of science. New Minds for a Changing World
Fields of scientific research today are being increasingly hybridised. The situation is more complicated than in the past because of the changing image in the practice of science, revolutionary changes in societies, and the emergence of an information age.
Science Matters, and Here’s Why
Because scientists and researchers work on solving problems that every one of us should care about—including climate risks, clean energy, new materials, emerging diseases and a wide range of technologies that can fuel economic growth.
Commissioned Education – Advanced Research
We run specialised Advanced Study Degrees and we cooperate with elite institutions worldwide. We promote higher education, scientific research and we target on knowledge and technology transfer.
Intro to tomorrow’s jobs
Education is highly concerned as our central hub, supporting a sustained international activity, coordinating interactions with academic and professional services, as well as promoting the exchange and dissemination of knowledge.

Since 2014 the Mediterranean Institute for Scientific Research has gained Candidacy Accreditation and very soon we will announce our full accreditation as a Premier institution by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC). ASIC is recognised by UKVI in UK, is a member of the CHEA International Quality Group (CIQG) in USA and is listed in their International Directory, is a member of the BQF (British Quality Foundation), are affiliates of ENQA (European Network for Quality Assurance) and are institutional members of EDEN (European Distance and E-Learning Network).
USA degree equivalency. A window to the world
Our degree programs are eligible for official USA evaluation and equivalency. This can be used for university admission, credits transfer, professional licensing, employment and salary adjustment, immigration.
Your network is more important than your résumé
The institute provides successful training and professional positions to graduates, depending on the ongoing research projects. Our graduates are able to join a highly passionate team of researchers, scientists as well as leaders in companies or organisations and to network with people that work in various disciplines.
Jobs Worldwide
We provide our students and graduates with a very powerful worldwide job search engine. This may give them internship, postdoctoral and most important, employment opportunities in their desired field.
SR21 initiative
Join respected scientists in your field of interest, to investigate critical issues facing our changing world in the 21st century. [ ]

Teaching tomorrow’s scientists today
Industry projections reveal that we’re not producing enough scientists. There are many reasons, but the major one is that students aren’t getting interested in science at an early age.
Science jobs are not all the same
One of our institute’s key aims is to encourage more young people to consider a career in science. Part of this procedure is to connect people worldwide, creating networks of education, research and culture, promoting creative ideas and fostering opportunities around the globe. We promote new partnerships with international institutions, based on scientific excellence.
Why become a scientist ?

Because you are interested in the world around us and how things work. Because you want to make a difference in the world and find solutions to give people a better standard of living. Because science is beautiful. Because scientific research is crucial to our future. Because science is not all white coats and lab work. Because scientists get the best jobs.
The future of the economy is in S.T.E.M.
Employment in occupations related to Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, is projected to grow faster than the average for all occupations. Prospective S.T.E.M. professionals have a combination of skills, education, and experience.
We focus on the development of S.T.E.M. occupations
Critical and creative thinking help S.T.E.M. professionals in problem-solving to detect mistakes, gather relevant information, and understand how different parts or systems interact with each other.
Licensing as a Scientist
We develop our graduates to get licensed or become members with professional bodies and organisations worldwide which will keep them in touch with science and its applications. Benefits of joining may make them eligible for recognition as a professional scientist in their specialised discipline.
So, you want to be a scientist when you grow up ?
EU announced EUR 16 billion for research in 2016 – 2017. This aims to support the early stages of joint science and technology research for radically new future technological possibilities. Research and innovation are the engines for progress and vital to addressing today’s new pressing challenges like immigration, climate change, clean energy and healthy societies.
You’re a what? Psychometrician?
It’s important to find something that excites you, because working in S.T.E.M. means making an investment in a passion.
Technical ability is essential to ST.E.M. work, but communication skills are also important.
Aristeia alliance
The Alliance networks leading global universities in a specific discipline as well as international companies and organisations, which may provide a training / placement environment or a job opportunity for our research students.

The Bachelor of Advanced Study is a Higher Degree offered almost in any desired undergraduate discipline. The degree involves considerable effort through supervised research projects. This Degree is equivalent to Level 6 based on the new Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) of the United Kingdom.

The Master of Advanced Study involves considerable effort through supervised research projects. This Higher Degree is offered almost in any desired discipline and is equivalent to Level 7 based on the new Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) of the United Kingdom.

A unique experience in Advanced study for recent Bachelor graduates. Licentiate of Advanced Study students work side-by-side with some of the leading scientists in the world in environments devoted exclusively to Advanced Research. This Higher Degree is offered almost in any desired discipline and is equivalent to Level 7 based on the new Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) of the United Kingdom.

The Doctorate of Advanced Study involves considerable research through a thesis and supervised research projects. Alternative exit award is the Licentiate of Advanced study. The Doctorate of Advanced Study Degree is offered in almost any desired discipline. This Higher Degree is equivalent to Level 8 based on the new Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) of the United Kingdom.

Translational Medicine Division

Treating and Prevention:
Every 3 years 50 % of the established medical knowledge becomes obsolete and is replaced by new facts.

Translational Medicine is a multi-faceted discipline with a focus on translational therapeutics. In a broad sense, translational medicine bridges across the discovery, development, regulation, and utilisation spectrum. It may include application of research findings from genes, proteins, cells, tissues, organs, and animals, to clinical research in patient populations, all aimed at optimising and predicting outcomes in specific patients.

Mental Disorders Laboratory

All the confusion about defining “mental disorder” makes sense when one thinks about the term more carefully. Mental has to do with mind and disorder is often (though not always) a euphemism for disease. So, another way to think about mental disorder is as some kind of “mind disease.” Of course, as Thomas Szasz (1974) pointed out more than 50 years ago, mind or perception are products of our brain but  – unlike brain – are not tangible, and so, in a literal sense, they cannot be afflicted by diseases.

Chemical Structures Laboratory

Recent research has described a number of novel material characteristics. New identified material radiations and fields have been described and novel detection methods are advanced based on the “signature” of each substance. Applications of such “novelfields are developed by the Mediterranean Institute for Scientific Research and a novel detection system has been developed.

ZEBS School of Business Sciences

We offer Business Sciences degree programs in collaboration with the Swiss based Zurich Elite Business School.
A well-qualified S.T.E.M. workforce is crucial to business and industry. Graduates in S.T.E.M. subjects can expect to receive amongst the highest salaries of all new recruits. And this message is clear across the S.T.E.M. education and training landscape. The S.T.E.M. (core) department of MISR, helps to inform policymakers on the critical role that science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education plays in competitiveness and future economic prosperity.

Security Sciences Unit
